What are the best guitar brands for semi-beginners?

I’ve been playing an acoustic that I recieved as a birthday present for about three months and I’m looking for another guitar to replace it. I didn’t realize how bad it really was until my cousin and I were fooling around with her guitar last night. I noticed that the neck was much smoother, the action was far better, and the upper frets were more easily accessible. On my instrument, the action is terrible and I have trouble keeping it in tune.

I’m looking at the same model as hers on Musician’s Friend, its an Ibanez. I also looked at some Fender acoustics and Epiphone acoustics, but I’m not sure what to get. I’d like this to be under $200 if its possible.

Also, what should I do with my starter instrument? I bought it off of Ebay, and there is no indication of any brand name or model on the guitar: no serial numbers, nothing. I was considering reselling it on Ebay, but the packaging seems to be more trouble than it’s worth.

You have to go to a music store and try them all out till you find one you like. The action cna be adjusted to your liking, and the machine heads may be able to be tightened up or replaced to keep it in tune. When you buy another guitar, make sure they have your guitar of choice set up properly for you so you get maximum enjoyment out of it. You may be ableto have the same music store sell your starter on consignment, or who knows, maybe they’ll take it on trade.
