I Need Basic Electric Bass Info?

I am wanting to play the bass guitar soon.i need all the info i can about them.pickups, tuning, etc.i don’t know a damn about any of that

Well, I don’t thin you need to worry right away about pickups and technical stuff. The tuning of course is vital, but if you’re starting just check it with a tuner, with the guitars or keyboards if any, or just take an easy song in A, if your axe is a four string, A has to be the third string from down. On the fifth fret, A string, you locate D. Tune the second string from down to that. Same with first string that must be G. Then on the second fret, D string, you found E, and the fourth string is tuned like that, one octave down. There, you’re set to play. The same thing than with a six string guitar, minus the two first strings.
As for the gear, hold the big buy on effects and stuff, just get yourself a good amp. Once you got the basic gear, the most important thing is to know your instrument. Play with it, as in toying, trying to get as clear a sound as you can. Play along your favorite songs, it’s the best way to learn what your axe can do, and apply it later to your sound.
Don’t go into slaps and taps right away, go basic, learn the grooves and licks before you become funk master. Always stick to the bass drum.
When you can get all that done and you can play your axe in your sleep, then you can move on, experiment and acquire the latest gear.
